alot of chrome and alum wheels are clearcoated for protection and shine. does it look like the chrome is peeling ? or a clear coat. clear coat would look kinda like plastic....but so would chrome if it were peeling...but the chrome wouldnt be clear...if it's clear coat, you could sand, then polish, being careful not to sand away the chrome, all evidence of peeling away and re-spray it yourself. re-chroming comes in lots of different quality and price ranges. if you did all the prep work yourself, sanding and removing any and all finishes and give them a perfect surface to work with, you could prob get them for around 50 each for good quality chrome......if they do all the labor it would add lots more...shop around...or check with any restoration shops in your area for advice on where to go...

well, for one you could check around and see if there are any wheel repair shops in your area and get a quote on re-finishing them. they would do a total strip of the old clearcoat and then re-spray them. on a beemer i used to have with aftermarket chromes, i refinished a couple of them. i wasnt worried that they look perfect...just didnt want them to look like they were peeling. i scraped off all the loose clearcoat that would come off...then...CAREFULLY sanded with 800 the edges of where the clearcoat came off to feather it in some...then i polished the chrome and existing clearcoat to as good a finish as i could.... then washed and cleaned them real good, then i sprayed the bad areas with clearcoat... you can get it at most auto stores. i polished the areas to blend some...then waxed. the final results looked real good from a distance...but if you got down and looked closely you could tell.
