When my car needs a good polishing, I usually use a clay bar after the wash and clay all around the car, as it gets rid of contaminants stuck on the car and smooths out the surface. Then I apply quick detailer spray to remove all of the clay markings, and finally a coat of wax all around the car. I clay my car once every 3-4 months since the car is parked outside daily.

Questions like this not really car specific, the General forum would've gave you a better response.

You need to be a bit more specific. Polishing is typically done to remove swirls or other light scratches. Polishing is done as a "paint prep" before applying wax or sealants for protection.

It's just a BS scam dealers pull to make some extra money. They probably told her that they gave the clear coat a "special coating" Now it can withstand a nuclear war.

The paint will still need regular waxing and polishing to keep the shine looking new.
