minor scratches on chrome grill

I had my ATF flushed the other week by my mechanic and now that I got my truck back, I've noticed a couple of patches of minor scratches on my chrome grill surround where he probably laid the hoses. I notice the chrome on the front grill surround is a lot softer and scratches softer than the rear bumper.

I was just wondering if anyone knows why this is and if there is a way to get the scratches out.
Thanks in advance.

It's not real chrome, so don't use chrome polish. I would use a regular paint polish with a buffer. But ScratchX by hand will help hide the scratches.

Thanks Pb. So, your saying just treat it like a painted surface, gotcha.
Just wondering, do you know what the front grill surround is made of if not chrome?

PLASTIC

I have an OEM "chrome grill" as well on the Solara. Not that big, but scratches have become noticiable over time. The old grill (OEM - before I crashed) had some chrome flaking off, and it was just black plastic underneith.

I read that to keep the shine on the chrome plastic, use windex or a window cleaner...works good on the grille of my Chevy Truck! Then I apply Nufinish..lasts longer!
