You can use any number of quality products... a 3-step system with a pre-wax cleaner, sealer & Glaze and a pure carnauba can provide very nice results for darker colors and you can achieve nice results by hand.
A cleaner wax may be just fine initially, but you'll eventally appreciate the glaze as your paint sees more exposure.
I'd detail the trim with Back-to-Black and I'd likely clay it first, especially if it sits out much.
Mothers makes a good 3-step that's available at places like Pep Boys, which are all over So. Cal. -- buy one of each (I like the paste carnauba) and maintain it with the pure carnauba periodically, or something like FX Spray Wax after every other wash or so. You don't need to do all 3 steps but once or twice a year, but you'll want to use the carnauba every so often and the Sealer & Glaze as necessary to maintain a deep, clear gloss.
Meguiar's has similar products that are also pretty readily available.
There are so many choices so I know it's confusing, but you don't need to spend a whole lot of money, just don't go on the cheap... you now know what a paintjob costs, so you want to protect that.
