Thumbs up Interior scratches--ideas?

Recently purchased a 2001 Avalon, with 87,000 miles on it. Really well cared for, BUT wood grain(is that wood or plastic?) is very scratched. what will get rid of the scratches, then what maintance after that?
Will be attacking the exterior once we get a weekend without Snow or Freezing temps

Thanks All

Remove it! Then replace it. About a 100 bucks on Ebay! Could try Mother Plastic Polish. That would be alot of tedious work tho!

I'm not sure what that surface is, but if it's a simulated wood, then Plastic polish would have to be used very carefully unless there's a pretty good clearcoat on it or you may risk wearing through the "printed" pattern. Look at it with a magnifying glass and see if you can see a dot pattern, which would indicate it's "printed."

If it's real wood with a laquer or other clear coating, start with a cleaner wax, a scratch remover, or perhaps even Plastic Polish... either one should work depending on the coating.

Again, I'm not sure of the surface, but some experimentation in an inconspicuous area may be called for unless you get some better suggestions.

both of my parents have 01 avalons. the wood grain is fake. but it starts from the bottom.

Base
Wood grain printed
then about a 1/8th inch of clear what appears to be plastic

Thanks All

Looks like a couple of Vendors specialize in new Panels I can install. May go with something other than the Wood Grain look.

Thanks for your replies

Happy New Year to ALL
