Clear Coat/Touch of Class: opinions?

I need to finish buying my new Toyota tomorrow. I pushed it off until tomorrow so I could think about the options, one of which was the "touch of class" clear coat for $900. I've talked to several people who think it's another dealer ripoff. Anyone have any experience with TOC, good or bad? Could it possibly take the place of wax and polish? Is there something else that would? thanks in advance

DONT DO IT. It's just a coat of wax. It costs them about $10 and an hour of labor. This is how the dealership makes their big money. Don't go for any of that extra stuff they try to sell you at the end. Read everything you sign.

You can apply your own wax, and it will do the same job. Or you can get a pro detailer to do it for $100 to $200.

Yup don't do it! $900 for that? They must be insane! I don't usually buy any offers they suggest at the end of transactions, I just tell them that "I already paying to much for the car."
