Canada Meguiar's Product Line

What's the general opinion on the whole Meguiar's line of products?

I know most people have their personal favorites, but Meguiar's everything is really easy for me to get ahold of where I live and ordering of the internet usually involves extra taxes as it comes over the border into Canada.

Cheers

Go with Meguiars it's good stuff. Except I don't care for the NXT waxes. The only NXT product I like is the NXT glass cleaner.

Cool. I was mostly looking at their traditional stuff. The purple bottle and rice car-ish NXT name made me feel like it was being targeted at a different market than myself.

On a side note... I just realized that it's an older version of your truck that's my desktop background.

It's there because I'm also looking at the Westin/PIAA setup, though I'm not going for the bug screen or nerf bars.

Yeah, that pic is about a year old. Since then I have changed the: grill, steps, suspension, wheels, and tires.

I can e-mail you some high resolution pictures if you want. Those pics on my CarDomain have been compressed. PM me.

The ones I have are 1024x753. I didn't get them off CarDomain but I don't even remember where I found them. I was doing a Google search for "Tacoma Bull Bar" pics so I could show my wife what I was planning and decided they were nice enough to become a desktop.

Ive used NXT wax its an OK wax not too good on lighter colors, smells great, easy to buff off, leaves white residue on black plastic, durability about 3.5 months,Mothers Synwax might be a better option although Ive never used it, read that it has better durability than NXT paste. NXT is also a cleaner type wax maybe not a good idea to use over sealant found that out the hard way.

Definatly not for me then. Aside from the fact that my truck is still stock it looks identical to the one in PB's signature.

I'm more of a Mothers guy, but Meguiar's does make some good products I've used in the past. Not keen on some of them I've tried lately. It really depends on what you're getting at. There are worse lines, though, that's for sure.

Just a general tip: before claying and/or waxing with any product, do yourself a favor and detail the trim. I use Back-to-Black on my cars and let it penetrate while claying and/or waxing and it saves a lot of potential cleanup, plus the extra time on the faded trim does it some good before I buff it off. (I like Back-to-Black much more than Meg's Trim Detailer, by the way -- looks better and holds up longer.)

I use Meguiar’s pro product line because I know exactly what the finished car will look like each and every time.

Ive recently used Klasse AIO on all my trucks exterior Black Plastic Matte parts cleans any old wax white residue off and leaves a nice clean protected looking piece I really like the AIO for that reason can be applied to glass, plastic, chrome etc. make it all look clean and detailed.

How's the Mother's 3 step stuff (Pre-Cleaner, Sealer/Glaze, and Wax)?

I think there are better brands out there, but Meguiars is the most readily available. It's a good choice for 90% of people.
