questions about types of detailing products

ok after reading ur sticky PB, im kinda confused =P

--car wash removes dirt, road stuff, bugs, and all the big nasty stuff.
--paint cleaner and clay bar is for after washing ur car and it removes ur wax and 'deep' cleans ur paint/clear coat and removes fine dirt.
--polish is for when ur car is very clean and basically it "fine sands" the paint/clearcoat and removes swells, and light scratches. it also removes oxidation and makes dull paint shine.
--wax is a layer that goes over the paint/clear coat and protects the paint/clearcoat from UV rays and outside abuse.

did i get all four products right ?? the purpose of the products seems so confusing because companies make like cleaner wax, polish wax, and they like combine everything so.... ugh

if i missed something please let me know. i relli wanna learn -.-;;

thanks a lot guys

Yeah, pretty much.

Polish deep cleans and repairs swirls and light scratches. Your paint should be clayed before polishing.

I don't really like products that combine wax and polish into one step. Polish and wax do totally different jobs. It's better to just get a product that does one job, and does it good.

Klasse is a slight exception to the rule. It is mainly a wax, but has a little cleaning/polishing ability too. It certainly doesn't replace a real polish though.

So PB, based on what you're saying above about Klasse and one of the other posts of yours I recently read about treating new Tacomas (can't remember which thread), let me know what you think about my plan...

My Indigo Tacoma is a month old. I plan to clay bar it, use Klasse AIO, then Klasse sealant. I have a couple of very minor scratches I'd like to get rid of and swirling is still at a minimum. If I'm reading this right, Klasse AIO is probably a good product at this point since my new paint doesn't need something with a whole lot of polishing ability? What a bout a wax over the sealant (P21S?).

I'm open to suggestions since I'm still trying to grasp all the alternatives here...I just discovered through this forum a month ago to dump the bath towels before my truck arrived...Thanks everyone.

Wash, clay, then fix any scratches or heavy swirls with some polish. I guess you don't have a buffer? Once that's done you can apply the Klasse. If you want the Klasse to do a little polishing then you need to work the Klasse. This is why I like to apply Klasse with a buffer. If you just wipe the Klasse on and off then you won't get any polishing action from it. It will just add protection like a normal wax.

Klasse is a good protectant by iteself, but you can add some more depth by puting a natrual carnauba overtop of the Klasse the next day. P21S would be a good choice, but almost any carnauba will work.

OK. Followed your advice back then ^ and it worked great. You were dead on about AIO and lack of polishing action by hand, but it worked fine for what I had. Now a little time has passed and I 've added a few swirls. I only use sheepskin or microfiber wash mitt and microfiber towels so the swirls are still relatively minor. I also have a PC 7424 on the way. Here's the new plan, this time with the PC:

Clay
Pinnacle Swirl Remover #1
Klasse AIO
Klasse HG x 2
P21S

Is the Pinnacle #1 sufficient for 4-5 months of very light swirls from washing (color is Indigo, so I'd like to address the minor swirls on my darker color)? Any input on the polish/glaze/wax plan? Thanks in advance to everybody for sharing your wisdom.
