im using meguiars gold class liquid wax, i read on autopia that with certain waxes you would only want to wax your vehicle about 4 times a year, if i want to wax monthly or even more often with the gold class, is that too much?

i work at a mercedes, bmw, rolls royce dealer in raleigh nc and we wax all the cars numerous times and nothing bad comes from it....... i dont see why waxing a car multiple times would ruin anything. it can just get tiring after a while, my friend has a black crossfire and he waxes it at least 2 times a month and it looks great
my car gets dirty within a week, no matter if i wash, wax, dry, polish, spray, wipe, shine, or garage...
i guess Tennessee has rough air ... but then again, with all the pollen floating around lately and all the highway driving i do, its no wonder my car wont stay clean

I wouldn't think "too much" wax would damage your paint, since it's just a topical protective layer. You can overclay your car since clay is an abrasive, an I imagine you could overwash your car if you use really harsh soap, which would eventually dry out your paint and take away its luster. But wax should not be an issue, as long as its used properly.
Personally, I wash my car thoroughly (wash and wax) about once a month. I may wash it more often if it's really dirty, and I rinse it down once or more a week. I park outside and the air is full of pollutants and dust here, so if I didn't do this, my car would look like it was never washed in its life.
i wax my car once a month with gold class, and it keeps my finish smooth and glossy....i keep it that way by touching up with quick detailer every once and a while...twice a year ill go all out with clay bar, paint cleaner, polish and wax (before summer and winter)
