Rubbing Compound Line removal?

So back to my gf's hood. Im almost done with removing all the oxidation! but in certain lights, there is straight lines from the rubbing compound.


Whats the best way to get this thing back to minimal lines + max shine?

Would it be wrong to take polish and rubin the opposite direction? LMK!

its just like sanding. you start off with a course cut, then you move on to a finer cut to remove the lines from the previous compound.

what did you use to polish it? rubbing compound? if so, you can step down to like a polishing compound, do the same thing, then wax it. youll have a hard time getting the swirls out by hand though.

You can remove the rubbing compound swirls with some polish and a buffer. Don't use the rubbing compound anymore. You might make it worse. Rubbing compound is like polish, but it's way more agressive. Polish will fix the lines. Start with a heavy cut polish and then switch to medium and fine cut.

wow, that looks great. i just did the same thing with my roommates Sentra last night. need to hit it again though, first cut wasnt deep enough, but it did turn the car from chalk board gloss to dry erase board gloss. he hadnt washed it in probably a year at least
