It's just a BandAid. It doesn't actually remove the oxidation. It just moistens the surface and makes it look shiny temporarily. The oxidation is still there.

Polishing is the real fix. Polishing will actually remove oxidation and swirls. Polishing isn't as easy as Spray On and Wipe Off though.

you can't simply remove any oxidation by simply using that product. i think its crop. you need to polish in order to remove an oxidation.

Yeah, I think Billy Mays is a little out of his league on this one Although I would take a bullet for Oxi-clean, that stuff is amazing.

Yeah, it's a fast and safe bandaid. It just temporarily hides paint damage. To actually fix it you'll need to polish.

i agree with pb...the only way to remove oxication is some time, elbow grease and polishing....it takes hours, not minutes to remove that kind of oxidation...seems like a quick fix

i do swear by oxi-clean tho

It's important to look at what they are actually claiming...from what I can tell, they're claiming three things. It's fast, it will make surfaces shiny for weeks and it's safe. Here are some quotes from their website:

- Extreme wet shine lasts for weeks (NOTE: This could mean two weeks)
- It’s safe for all types of finishes, even old neglected ones
- It sprays on clear, dries clear and gives your car a sleek-looking shine in just minutes

I don't see any claims of it removing oxidation or scratches or anything like that (please tell me if I'm wrong).

Anyway, it sounds like silicone to me.

The MSDS shows the first hazardous ingredient as Polydimethylsiloxane. This is pretty much silicone. This product also contains detergents and solvents that might provide some relief for a messy surface with little effort.

The funny thing is that the MSDS lists the product as 'liquid-based tire dressing'. Tire dressing is mostly silicone and water.

http://www.simonizusa.com/pdf/msds/L...oncentrate.pdf

So are they selling people tire dressing to put on their paint? Maybe! Probably some marketing guy's idea to make bank off an existing product...
