some one spray painted my friends 2003 Camry Hood, so what would remove the spray Paint? do you guys think its a good idea to use "Prepsol"? it might be expensive but if its good enough to advoid a paint job then it might be well worth it. so far thats the only thing i could think off that might remove the spray paint from the hood.
No, we havent tried anything, i have not seen it yet, i was just informed and he asked me what could remove it, so the onlything i could think of might be Prepsol but im not sure if it would spread it out or leave the paint dull.
by the way how would clay baring the car remove spray paint? i have used it on my own car but that was just to remove little particles in the the paint, and he said its about half his hood has been spray painted.
Claying and a serious polishing should make it look good as new.
I've removed overspray with a clay bar kit alone, but I've never tried to remove intentionally sprayed on spray paint, like graffiti. Did somebody vandalize the car?
Yes someone vandalized the car, about half the hood has graffiti. they woke up and found the car vandalized on Monday Morning and haven’t done anything yet cause they had to go to work and had no time to attempt to remove it.
Thanks for the response, we got it off with some kind of liquid an Artist Friend gave us, something similar to Paint thinner but not as strong. Took the graffiti right off with constant rubbing with slight pressure. The result came out nice without making it dull or damage to the gloss finish. After we removed the graffiti we clayed it and waxed it and it was good as new.
Glad to hear. I was about to say dont even think about using rubbing compound that will mar the crap out of any paint. Anyway thursday we had polished out my moms whole car and my friend walked up and spray painted the white hood black. Took him a minute with a light cut wool pad on a rotary to get it off. then polished it with a polishing pad. Good as new. he did it just for fun. HAHA. but yeah proof that spray paint isnt that big of a deal. especially on CLEAR COATED cars these days. On a single stage car that could be a prob.

Amen, sir! Rubbing compound should never be used on your paint. It should be a crime to sell that stuff.
