PC on PWC paint?

I tried this on the PWC (personal watercraft) forum that I visit, but didn't get much response. Does anyone know if it would be safe to use the PC on my Jet Skis? I've gotten a little better with it and I think I'm ready to tackle the water spots. Just wondering if anyone knows how tough that paint is, I don't want to take it all off. I wasn't planning on using a real aggressive polish. Anyone?

Clay bar might help to take the water spots off, have you tried that yet?

No, I was going to do that at the same time. I figured that would be safe to use, so just didn't mention it, but I figured since I did that, I might as well polish as long as its safe. I guess I might as well describe what I'll do. Wash with Meguiar's Marine Wash (don't remember the exact name, it's much more gel-like than car wash), claybar, polish, and wax with Meguiar's Marine Wax. And yes, drying with a quality microfiber towel.

That should take care of most, if not all, of your water spots I would think.

I'll give it a try, and just take it easy on the how much pressure I put on it and speed. I'll post pics when it's done. Thanks for the advice!

Make sure you give it another wash with a clean bucket of suds after the clay bar to remove remaining crap on the paint. Do you use the 2 bucket method to wash? 1 bucket with suds and another with just water. You clean with the suds and rinse with the clean water one so the crap doesn't get back on the washing mit/sponge.

Thanks. Yeah, I have a bucket to rinse the mitt in. The plan is to give it a go tomorrow evening, I'll let you know how it turns out.

A PC and polish should be safe on jet skis. They usually have a hard coating. Do it just like you would your cars paint. Polish and wax.

Went ahead and tackled it this morning. Used the PC on about speed 4 to be careful at first, then slowly sped it up. Anyways, the skis look GREAT. The water spots are history, and they shine like they never have before. Even some of the scuffs from mishaps that I just chalked up as a loss are gone. I LOVE THIS THING! I don't have a digital camera at my disposal right now, but thanks for all the advice...they look AWESOME! Time to go to the lake!!
