I agree with Tideland and for sure it depends on how picky you are.
If you are going to clay, I doubt that anything other than the upwards facing panels will really need it after only a few months. YMMV.
Clay will most likely remove all of your wax. That's not necessarily a bad thing.
Depending on the color, clay may leave visible scratches. Always clay in the same direction so you can see if you left a scratch pattern.
I clay about once per year, but 'the need' really depends on where you live, how often you wash and wax your vehicle and how much time it spends outside.
How often you clay/polish/wax is so subjective...a lot of it depends on you and how picky you are. I wax my truck about every 8 weeks but I could wait 12 easily and still have water bead on it. However, what I use is so easy to apply it doesn't make sense to stretch it. It only adds about 20 minutes to my wash job.
I polish once every year or two...it really depends what I've subjected my truck to. If it's been off-road, it may need to be polished sooner. Plus, I 'spot polish' a lot, meaning sometimes I only polish the areas that need it. Why take clear coat off areas that don't need to be polished?
I mean you can go CRAZY will polish and clay...but are the benefits worth your time? Also, you can certainly polish too much. Remember, every time you polish, you remove paint. Once you're through the clear, you're hosed.
