man! wtf

Well I moved into a new house this past week and we have very hard water. Well, I washed the truck for the first time in almost a month and now I have water spots on the windshield. I have tried just about everything short of paying somebody to get rid of these water spots. It is hard to see out of the windshield at night with the oncoming traffics lights on.

Anybody got some ideas? I have tried white vinegar, kaboom, claybar, turtle wax clayless bar.

Oooo! Yeah the hard water here is bad!
Sorry to here of your problem.
My wife's car has the same thing. I can't get it out. If you find out how to do it? Short of paying someone, let me know?
I'm thinking about replacing the windshield.

If you wash your truck? NEVER allow the water to dry. Always keep spraying it down. And do it in the early morning or the late afternoon.

Good luck man!

i would use an razor as a last resort, i had them on my old one, i could never get them out. have you tried an electric buffer. those bounce sheets you but in your dryer work miracles on getting bugs off your bumper, if nothing else you could give one of those a try, you got nothing to lose.

I always use the low pressure ''spotless'' rinsing from filtered water at the coin-op car washes when i wash the truck myself.

Works every time. To remove Hard water stains from glass - try some steel wool with a liquid polishing compound or glass

cleaner, that might help u out.

Usually brand new stainless razor blades work pretty good. CRL has a product that works good called Sparkle.

I use Zaino glass cleaner with a PorterCable polisher now since I can't find Sparkle locally. The Zaino worked better than anything else I tried. After you get it completely clean or replaced use Aquapel to help stop the water spots from sticking.

You might try Ceramabryte for glass top stoves from Home Depot to get you going.
If the glass is already etched it might need to be done professionally or replaced.

Both Sparkle and Zaino gives off tons of residue so you'll need to wash the truck when you're done.

One more thing, I also use distilled water in the windshield washer reservoir so I get less water spotting than tap water.

You could try limeaway on a paper towel and dab the spots, wipe it off with some glass cleaner afterwards. Just becareful not to touch any plastic or paint with the limeaway or it will damage it.

If you have a Porter Cable 7424 you could try this Autoglym glass polish kit.

I have found that chrome polish works well. Put it on just like you are polishing chrome and then buff it off. Works everytime.

I'm surprised white vinegar didn't do it. In extreme situations, that's what I use on painted surfaces. Did you leave it on very long (like 15-30 seconds?)

Lemon juice might work, but it is similar to vinegar, in that it is acidic.

Be careful no to get either solution on your paint. Rinse it off quickly if it does.
