Washing Black Tacoma Advice

I have an 08 black DC Sport comming in soon, and would like to get advice on washing it. I've been told that black takes a little more care when washing to avoid swirl marks, ect..
Would appreciate input on wash mitts, drying towels, wax applicators...stuff like that.
What's worked for you guys, and definetly what to avoid before I wash it the first time!
Thanks

No sponges . I like Duragloss products. Use 'search' to see past threads on this topic. Apparently 'not searching' is the unforgivable sin around here , heaven forbid some just answer your question. BTW congrats on getting your new Taco. My '08 Black DC is supposed to be here next week and I can't wait . Are you a first time Tacoma owner?

Walmart sells "detail towels" in their auto section of the store. They are light blue and about 12" x 12" and made a of terry cloth type material. They are SO SOFT that it feels like they snag on your skin. I use them to wash and dry my truck.

I know this will sound hard to believe, but they work better than ANYTHING else to dry your vehicles. No swirl marks.

Opinions are like Buttholes....Everyone has one! They all can stink at one time or another!
Just because you have one doesn't mean you have to act like one!
Have you hugged your kids today?

I'm not a hardcore detailer but I like to use Microfiber towels for everything (washing, drying, waxing).

As for the wax, since I don't have a lot of free time I prefer to just use an All-in-One type of wax (Klasse, System One etc...).

It doesn't get you a PERFECT looking truck but it makes it look decent and is easy on the wallet/not as time consuming.

For my two cents, you can check out the "Do you have any suggestions for washing my car?" link on my FAQ's page at http://www.polishandwax.com/faq%27s.htm

Oh you can also buy SYSTEM ONE Wax there as well as microfibers...I sell a dozen 16"x16" for $16.

CLICK HERE That page has some of my advice on what not to do. So many people are running around with really terrible advice on how to wash the car. In fact, if you look in your owner's manual I wouldn't be surprised to see the suggestion that you use dish soap to wash the car with. That article is just a couple pieces of advice around the washing and drying of your car that could save you some damage. Proper car care starts with washing with the right products and techniques. You are wise to do research on that kind of thing when you have a black vehicle.

Thanks for the input so far. Sorry I didn't use the search function, I usually do, and will be as I research this topic for sure.
Second Tacoma, had a 95 ECAB that I sold and bought an 05 Tundra DC. Just too big for my style...love the Tacoma size.

Read the detailing sticky.

I don't care for Microfiber wash mitts. I feel that they hold on to dirt. You want dirt to rinse out in the water bucket. I use sheepskin mitts. I use MF for all the other steps. Generally, microfiber that clings to your skin is lower quality microfiber. Getting good washing and drying equipment is important to keeping your paint swirl-free. Washing and drying is when most paint damage occurs. I buy from here http://www.autopia-carcare.com/mf-200.html and http://www.pakshak.com/
