Getting rid of sticker markings

The previous owner of my camry had put on a fish badge(christian sign) on the trunk. One day, the car was sitting outside for almost the whole day in the unbearable heat. The badge was losing its stickiness and nearly sliding off. I decided to carefully take it off by using a fishing string. Now, there is the left over markings of the sticker. I tried everything in my knowledge to clean it up, but nothing worked. Does anyone know of a good product to do the job? Thanks

What do you mean by left over markings? The residue from the back of the badge? Or do you mean that there is some sort of imprint on the trunk where the badge used to be?

Polish and buffer would help. But if you don't have a buffer go get some Meguiars ScratchX and start rubbin' it in.

Try a quality polish on both and see if that works.

Is the remaining residue sticky? If so use goo-gone. I can't count how many times goo-gone has saved my stupid ass.

ScratchX actually works very well on certain things (apparently not for your imprint) I have had great experience with it more than once. You just have to work it in with some passion with the right kind of applicator(foam applicator is good).

A capfull (or two) of white vinegar diluted with a litre of water will do it...Windex with Vinegar will do it as well...

Did you try polishing the windshield with some chrome polish? Ya gotta really rub it in. It can take a while.

Well, keep in mind that since the car has been in the sun with UV rays always hitting the car, when you remove sticker, yes, there will be an imprint because the color of the car has been faded a bit.

That's why when you bring the car to the body and paint shop to fix the car for an accident, they always have to do a color match to the car.

The only way to solve this problem is to bring the car to a body and paint shop and have them paint over the spot where the sticker was at.

I say just leave it as it is.
