looking to debadge truck, how to remove brown crud

I'm planning to debadge my truck and rebadge them with (vinyl?) stickers. However there's some brown stuff around the badging that is hard to remove (probably old wax?). How do I remove it so it comes out clean when I rebadge it? Also some of that brown stuff is on the trim.

once u remove them, get some polish and start polishing away

Try a clay bar first and then the polish.

A cleaner wax would work, but I prefer polish.
