My sources tell me that even though some waxes at Walmart have the same part number as you find online or in other stores, they are not the same blend. They're watered down to meet Walmart's buying price.
That's why you'll never see SYSTEM ONE (or other 'professional' polishes and waxes) at Walmart.
Wal-mart does sell Meguiar's Gold Class, NXT, and Mother's Carnauba and cleaner waxes, I don't see anything wrong with those products. What I would watch out for is shitty Turtle Wax and Armor-all.
The NXT product is a really good one. It looks a lot like what I see much more expensive products look like. I'd compare it to Zaino in appearance on some colors.
For most of the higher end products that last longer and look better you'll have to go online to get them. The reason you won't find products like Zaino or Klasse or a thousand other products on the shelves at WalMart is because they don't choose to spend their money marketing to that crowd. People who don't know much about car care aren't the target marketes for companies like that. Combine that with the fact that they couldn't produce enough to meet the demand of selling a dozen bottles on every walmart shelf in America and you see why they don't choose to go that route. Some of these products are made in the garages of the chemists who own the companies. For a long time Zaino was like that. It was only recently that they even started taking orders online. You used to have to get it directly from a distributor. Most of these products are manufactured in very small quanities and they keep their prices low because they don't mass market them through walmart.
I'd get the California Gold Clay Bar from Mothers and either use the Carnauba Cleaner Wax (sample included), or get the FX SynWax (better and easier to use than NXT).
