my cars battery

hi, my car doesn't start any more. it seems like the battery is dead. i tried to jump start it using a jump starter. it turns on. but then when i remove the jump plugs, and press break or turn on the headlights it turns off again like a dying battery. is it cuz the battery can't hold power anymore? or cud it be something more serious? thanks

Sounds to me like your battery needs replacing. Batteries function through the flow of energy positive => negative. Over time, energy is drained and lost naturally. Hook up another battery to your car and see if thats the problem.

Boy, is this thread lost. Let me see if I understand your post. Your car doesn't start. You jump start it and its running. You disconnect the cables. Your turn on the light or step on the brakes and the engine dies. If this is what is happening, your alternator is bad. Once running, your car can run without a battery because it makes its own electricity.

I'm not sure what car you have, but you're posting in the wrong forum.
