I second the Aerospace 303. That is the best stuff on the shelf right now.

Armor All isn't as bad as everybody says it is. As a brand they have a bad rep because of previous formulations that had 'bad' silicones in them. The current forumula isn't going to hurt your dash at all. I don't know of a vinyl protectant on the shelf right now that is bad for your car. Some are shinier than others and some attract dust more than others, but they aren't harmful. Don't stress out too much. If you want the best for your car then get the 303. One bottle should last you for years if you are only treating your dash every few weeks. You don't have to grease it up every day to protect it.

While I bought mine online, when I first heard of 303 I was told it was used alot on RVs. Maybe an RV dealership?

I've seen it on the shelf at Checker/Kragen. I don't know what it is called where you are at, but that might be a good place to start.

Ahh. Don't have those around here. We have Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts for our big chain stores. Don't recall seeing it there, but wasn't specifically looking for it. I'll check around and see if it's available locally. Otherwise, there's always the internet

Thanks.

Damp towels are for getting the dust off and just cleaning the dash. Just like washing the car is for cleaning and not for protection. If you want to protect your dash from fading and cracking, then you need to use a UV protectant. Your dash can fade in a matter of two or three years if you don't have protection on it. I'm not talking about the entire thing either. It will start to fade one splotchy spot at a time. It looks terrible and the only way to avoid it is to either cover the dash and keep the sun off it, or to use a high quality UV protectant that keeps it from drying out and fading. It is like leather, really. You don't just use a leather cleaner. You also have to use a leather conditioner. If you just use the cleaner then you'll have the cleanest cracked leather on the block.

or use one of those Swiffer dusters with the handles...

Thats what I do when I come to a stoplight, right behind my passenger sweep, and give my dashboard a quick wipe!

Thanks.
They won't have it.

Do you have a NAPA? I've heard that they carry it.

I just order mine online, along with some other stuff. I usually order some detailing products about every 4 months. Lots of good deals online.
