Quick Detailer Selection

Does it matter what kind of finish product your car has on it when you're selecting a quick detailer?

For example, one of my cars is finished with Pinnacle Liquid Souveran carnauba. The other car is finished with Megs NXT Tech Wax.

Megs has their NXT Speed Detailer, their new Ultimate Quik Detailer, and their regular Quik Detailer.

Does it make a differenct which detailer I use based on carnauba finish vs sealant finish? When I look at Meguiars web site, they don't indicate anything regarding this.

The thing you need to remember is that there are Quick Detailers that are meant for dusting the car and there are Quick Detailers that are actually Spray Waxes. NXT has some of those as well as Mother's, Meguiar's, Eagle One, and just about every other manufactuer out there. The burgandy Meguiar's Quick Detailer product is a great detailer. Their #34 Final Inspection is also a great one. Neither of these products will cause a problem with any of your LSPs (last step products). Whether it is a sealant or a wax, you can QD with one of those without worrying about creating bonding issues later on.

The ones you have to worry about are the ones that have wax in them. If you are planning on using more sealant then these products would not be the best choice for a QD. It would prohibit future layers of sealants from bonding. They are great products, but not if you plan on continuing to layer sealants on the car. If you are done with your sealants, then more power to you. Go ahead and use whatever you want. Just remember that a Spray Wax is not a Quick Detailer. The NXT Spray Wax is quite literally a wax product just like a paste or liquid wax. The surface should be clean and dry before applying it. If you were to try and use it to clear up water spots or dust, then you would end up causing some issues to your finish. Just read the label and make sure you are using the right product for the job.

Exactly.

Pinnacle has a Carnuaba Spray Wax that is useful. I'd recommend just using Meguiar's Quick Detailer or Speed Detailer, then doing a quick run of Pinnacle's Spray Wax if needed.
