Sprayway was aerosol, Stoners was trigger spray. They didn't have Stoners aerosol at my WalMart. Would have liked to have gotten that as I think it would have been a better apples to apples comparison. May see if I can find their aerosol somehwere locally.
Used a separate pair of MF towels for each product. One for initial wipedown, one for follow-up drying.
I haven't had a chance to drive in the sun yet and it's still shady in my driveway, but that was somewhat intentional as I wanted to see how well you could "clean blind" with each one. I don't always have full sun available for window cleaning, so I wanted to see how good a job you can do without it. With other products I've used, i.e. Windex, etc., you might as well not even bother trying to clean without sun cause you'll just have a smeary mess that you'll have to redo later.
I'll update with overall cleaning observations, and will repeat cleaning in full sun later, but here are my initial observations.
1) Overspray was easier to control with the trigger spray than with the aerosol if you sprayed direct. Overspray could be eliminated with either by spraying into cleaning cloth and using it as a "wipe" then following with a dry cloth. "Wiping" cloth has to be pretty damp though to put enough product on the window to be effective, so I prefer to spray directly on the glass.
2) Sprayway aerosol goes on as a foam and stays where you put it until you wipe it off. Stoners trigger spray went on like water and ran off quickly.
3) Glass looks pretty good on both sides sitting in the shade, but that's to be expected. Need to see the full sun results.
4) On my right rear passenger door next to my youngest child's car seat, he had smudged the window with something, don't know what, but it was a greasy/waxy substance. Several blotches on the small quarter window and on the larger window. This happened to be on the Stoners side of the car. Whatever it was, Stoners wouldn't touch it. Sprayed it on, wiped, nothing. Sprayed it on again, let it sit for 10-15 seconds, wiped, nothing. Decided to try the Sprayway. Sprayed it on, let the foam sit for 10-15 seconds, wiped and took it off with no hesitation.
Will see how things look in full sun and report back.

OK, had the chance to take the car out for a full sun drive. All windows were VERY clean. Not a smear or smudge anywhere to be seen. What's really cool about that to me is, as I noted before, I was essentially doing "blind" cleaning with both products with no direct sun to check my results. That I could get the windows this clean in a single pass is nothing short of miraculous to me.
After returning home, I washed the car. When it was dry I parked it in full sun, then cleaned the outside of the windows again with both products in order to eliminate any water spots or smearing induced by wash. I also cleaned the inside of the windshield again because I wanted to check the "overspray factor" again with both products.
Both were easy to work with in full sun. Both seem to do an exellent job.
The "overspray" from the trigger spray is more noticeable working in the full sun than it was working in the shade. The aerosol was more noticeable in the shade because the aerosol is white and foamy as opposed to clear and watery. So, for example, in full sunlight, cleaning the inside of the windshield, it appeared that there was just as much overspray going on the dash with the trigger spray Stoners as there was with the aerosol Sprayway.
Final Observations:
1) Stoners and Sprayway both appear to do an excellent job. They both cleaned the windows of normal dirt, film, etc., in one pass with no smearing, etc. Can't really give preference to either one as far as general performance.
2) As noted earlier, Sprayway handled whatever my son had smeared on his window. Stoners didn't phase it. So, each product may have certain things that it cleans better than the other. It may be good to have both on hand.
3) I suspect the trigger bottle of Stoners would likely go farther than the aerosol can of Sprayway. However, I can get the Sprayway at Costco for $1.75/can if I buy a 4 pack.
4) The delta on overspray between the trigger and the aerosol was not as great when you saw it in the sun as it appeared to be when working in the shade. There was substantial overspray from both when spraying directly on the windows.
5) Stoners is easier to find. I've seen it at Wal Mart, Target, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts, and K-Mart. The only place I've seen Sprayway locally (so far) is Home Depot, and Costco.
Bottom line, they both work great. They're both WAAAAYYYYY better than anything else I've used, i.e. Windex and other "household" glass cleaners, home brews with Vinegar and alcohol, etc. And, they're both relatively cheap.
So, pick up whichever one you can get the cheapest, or keep both on hand in case you run into something that one of them won't clean.
