Is the power outlet at the bed strong enough to run the PC?

I just realized that I can possibly run the PC while I'm at the U-wash it, car wash.

And don't have to wash it there, then drive home to wax and polish it?

Is the bed outlet strong enough to run the PC and is so, do I need the truck engine to run as well?

It might be able to do it on low speed without much load on it. I wouldn't really recommend it though. See if the car wash place will let you plug your buffer into an outlet somewhere.

The Tacomas inverter can put out 400 watts. The PC pulls 3.7 amps with no load. Amps x Voltage = Watts.

3.7 x 120 = 444 watts

I doubt the trucks inverter could handle it for very long.

It was a nice thought.

You could still give it a try. You won't hurt the inverter. It will shut itself off if you overload it.
