Rust proofing creating massive swirls
Last year, I did an full exterior detail on my 14 yr old car (clayed, polished, sealed, etc. with the Porter Cable) I managed to remove almost all the swirls. Then I had have it rust proofed (oil type) before the winter.
When I got the car back, it was oily as expected, but I immediately noticed there were new swirls everywhere. These did not radiant from a light source, so they were not the old random swirls from before. I can clearly see the swiping action in the swirls.
I suspect that after the oily rust proofing process, they had to "clean" the car with a cloth or brush. The oil soaked cloth/brush probably had tons of dirt stuck to it.
Fortunately, after another 8 hours of claying, polishing, etc, I managed to remove all the swirls again.
Question: Does anyone have their cars rust proofed (oily type)? If so, how can they clean the car without creating swirls? Maybe I should've asked them to NOT clean the car after the oil treatment and simply rinse it with a high-pressure washer myself afterwards.
Has any experienced swirls after having their car rust proofed?
