Painting mah roof?

What do you think the results would look like if I tried to sand down and paint my roof myself? The paint is washing out/oxidizing really bad (Phoenix Sun ) and I can get the color paint made, cuz they did it when my door got smashed, although I'm not sure how much it would cost. Do you think the cost of buying custom paint and a cheap spraygun would be less than just sanding it down and having a body shop spray it for me? Any tips or advice? Thanks.

i'd say try it. If it already looks bad then experiment and learn on it.

Hey knj27,

If you don't have much experience with auto body painting, I would leave it up to the Pro's!

The prep work would not be too hard to tackle on your own.

Let us know what you’re going to do!

Thanks,

Ya, I'll leave the spraying to a shop, cuz the best I could do is probably a preval or a rattle can, which is not going to come out looking good at all.

If and when I ever do do this, I'll sand it down and mask it off myself, then take it to a shop and have them spray it. I don't think the cost would be that bad for doing just a roof (any idea?).
