Armor All... anybody use it on anything else other than there tires?

What do you guys Armor All on your trucks? Bed Rails, Rubber Window Trim, etc? I am curious as to what everybody greases up on there truck.

Also I have noticed that parts of my bed rails are turning whiteish and want to know if its ok to armor all them up.

Only on rubber and plastic parts. Keeps them black and shiny.

I don't use that junk at all. Armor All is water based and unless used regularly will distroy a dash or anything else you put it on. It can actually accelerate moisture evaporation from the plastic if you use it for a while then stop. If you're religous about wiping down the dash and other parts with it for the life of your truck then go for it. You're better off with a silicon based product though which can hold the moisture in and doesn't contain water.

EDIT: I should have said petrolium based but contains water. Silicon based products don't normally contain water. McGuires is some of the best.

amoral actually has a drying effect and will dry out your tires for sure and cause them to crack. I have been told by car collectors that armor all is a no no. try to get something has carnuba wax in it, smells like bubble gum. you can also by the wax in liquid forms and water it down. then put it a spray bottle. you can use this stuff for everything. For black stuff like tires, use Mothers' back to black.

My uncle has many first place trophies on survivor cars and this is what he uses.

good luck.

Their stuff is ok but do not use it on leather. It dries out leather really bad, it looks amazing like the first few days but after that its no good. I personally think that Meguiars products are way better than Armor All, give them a try and see what you think. I use their wax and plastic/rubber cleaner and it is the best I have come accost other than Der Shiny Stuff.

I also find that it weakens the sidewalls of the tires. More sidewall flex when cornering.

I don't like Armor All either. You have to keep using it or everthing turns white or brown. Enough people have come up with potential harm it does, I wouldn't use it. Somebody on another thread mentioned Adam's products. It came up regarding making tires black but not so shiney.

I use water also. Armor all attracks dust, and the glare off the windshield is horrible.

+10000....thats stuff is the best I have used, works great and smells good to boot. I use it on all the plastic in the interior, and my mudflaps on the outside. I use Optimum tire shine on my tires...seen here:
