I just bought an '09 XRS (delivery next weekend!) and Im trying to find the best and safest microfiber drying towels and buffing towels.
I see that Adams towels are highly regarded, however, I am looking for something that I can buy in a store (im in Toronto). Can anyone recommend some products and where I may be able to pick them up?
I saw an ArmorAll drying towel at wal-mart that looked ok (came in its own box). It seems like a mix between a waffle towel and a chamois.

Thanks for the help.
You'll find our towels are highly recommended because are the best towels out there. They are made in Korea - unlike Chinese towels you'll find in stores. Because they are Korean made, they won't turn hard or stiff after a wash in the laundry. They clean up much easier and retain their softness LONG after a store bought towel has turned as hard as cotton. All our towels are tagless so there is no worry of a hard or abrasive stitching scratching your paint.

What are your shipping costs to Canada (for 3 plush towels)?
They just don't sell good towels at retail stores. The Swipes brand at AutoZone is probably the best that you'll be able to find in a retail store, but you won't see me using one on my paint. Toyota paint is soft, and a cheap towel can put swirls all over it. Then to get the swirls out you have to do a lot of polishing. It just isn't worth all that trouble. Just get good towels and save yourself the trouble.
I suggest you get get 1 or 2 Adams white waffle weave drying towels, and a few plush buffing towels.
PakShak carries good towels too, but they're certainly not in Canada. http://www.pakshak.com/

+1 for Pakshak MF waffle weave towels. I bought some and they are the best drying / QD towels made. Plus pakshak has legendary customer svc and they ship REASONABLY to most destinations.
If you are ever considering buying from autogeek, give www.pakshak.com a try first, you'll be a believer.
I've tried a lot of different towels, and I've used similar waffle-weave towels to those that eShine offers, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. It doesn't hurt to stock up so you've got a load of wash dedicated to drying towels. I usually use one large waffle weave and two small towels per car.
While there are a few quality towels available at the retail level in the U.S., I'm not sure what's available in Canada, but I'm sure the situation is similar. Viking has some premium plush and edgeless polishing cloths that are excellent and are available at Kmart and some auto stores in the States. While the better Vikings have traditionally been made in Korea, some newer stock is made in China, but still they are better than most you'll find. Carrand has a new boutique brand that are available at Pep Boys in the States, and while they look pretty nice, I haven't tried them yet, and I don't know if they're available in Canada.
There's lots of excellent choices, but they all have one thing in common: none of them are cheap. And there are certainly several "best" choices. While Korean towels tend to be of higher quality, that doesn't mean they have a monopoly on good.
And don't let a little tag scare you if one you buy comes with a tag... a careful "grip and tug" and the tag's gone.

I bought a couple different towel brands while waiting for my Adams order and I regret ever using them. The ones I bought ARE microfiber, but what a huge difference compared to Adams towels. Adams towels are much more soft and also plush (thicker material). The drying towel is just unbelievably soft as well. PB is right, this paint is soft. I only had those cheaper microfiber towels and with some cheapo spray-on wax, I got some swirl marks in the paint on the grill. The Adams towels are so soft, they couldn't cause that if I went over the paint dry.
Do yourself a favor and just order a couple of the Adams towels. I'm a bit neurotic, but I keep mine in an enclosed drawer so that the dust in the garage and the pollen that seems to be everywhere now doesn't get on them.
I'm so addicted to the Adams stuff that I spend 10 minutes before pulling it out of the garage just taking the bugs off and going once over the paint with the detail spray, then the glass.
Give Jason or Justin a PM and they'll hook you up. Great people at Adams...you can't go wrong.
If you plan on palcing an order with Adams, do not forget to get their towels, detail spray and drying towel, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT, I guarantee it. The products are that good!
