Best car wax for my situation

I've got an '08 Taco and I just want to see what all of you would think the best car wax I should run to clean up my truck. I've noticed some swirl scratches and I also have a couple spots from some bird crap I accidentally left on my truck too long.

I just want to know if I should use things like a cleaner wax, clay bar, some other wax?? I don't want to spend my whole weekend waxing the truck but I want to clean it up so what do you guys recommend? What will get the most bang for my buck and my time??

I hear you man spending all day waxing is for the birds !!!! try out turtle wax's new ICE line i use the liquid wax, the clay bar and wash soap (all sold seperate) but damn do i get results and in half the time, very good stuff !!! Then i use a product called (303) for all my trim dash plastic rubber and the bed plastic protects like no other not like armor-all or other brands, not gressey and shines but most important PROTECTS from the uv rays....good luck !!

I've never tried the ICE products so I can't comment on them. But I'd suggest a good all-in-one product like Klasse if you don't want to spend a lot of time.

ScratchX is a good swirl remover. And I wouldn't bother with the clay bar on such a new truck unless you really need it - I think there's some plastic bag test you can do to see if you need it.

Hard to tell without pics of the marring or knowing the color or what you mean by "swirl scratches."

If you mean you've got normal spiderwebbing, you may be up for a challenge to remove them without investing in a Porter-Cable and pad setup, but if you want to do a nice shine, you can probably get by with a quality cleaner wax.

What won't come out with that, try a product like Mothers Scratch Remover, which you can finesse by hand and usually improve individual scratches and etching from water spots or bird droppings.

I'm not keen on any of the Ice products I've tried, but some people like them.

You can't go wrong by using a traditional one-step product, and for that I like either FX SynWax or the Carnauba Cleaner Wax included in the Mothers Clay Bar kit.

I really like the new PowerBall 4Paint to do the job quickly. I loaned one to my buddy to try on his new dark blue Pathfinder and he really liked it for applying FX SynWax. $25 or less, though you should also have a quality cordless drill and a spare battery.

Dress your trim first especially if you're using a traditional carnauba cleaner wax, but it's not bad idea to let the dressing do its job while you wax.

Once you're done, take a look at your washing and drying routine so you can minimze your introduction of additional spiderwebbing.
