Has anyone here used the SpongeTech sponge to wash their car?

I have heard very good things about this sponge. They are advertising all over NY and were on QVC recently. At least the video at the top of the page is nice.

Haven't tried it but looks like a major gimmick to get your cash IMO.

If you think about it relative to currently accepted good car detailing techniques, I can't see how it's going to work well.

How is the sponge "self cleaning"? If you get dirt on the sponge and you don't rinse it off in a bucket where is it going to go? It's not just going to disappear, so you'll be dragging it all over your paint and swirling the heck out of it.

Can't buy into the idea of combining an all purpose cleaner with liquid carnuba inside the sponge either. To me that would be like the spray on "waxes" that they use when you drive through a car wash. You're not really waxing your car, just including some wax in the wash.

Also, how do you control how much product your using?

Etc. Etc.

If you want something that works well and makes the job easier, try ONR. You eliminate the hose instead of the bucket, and that's a lot more timesaving than getting rid of the bucket.

Of course, ONR doesn't have any commercials with hot chicks getting wet and wringing out their sponges.

Lowes has a good soft car wash sponge for $1.87. It's called the ProLine Tile & Grout sponge. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...=cr&lpage=none

I've got a few of them.
