Reality check time: Glaze

I just purchased a Black 2006 Corolla XRS (See a picture in the Introduce Yourself Here: Looking for an XRS post)

A friend said to use a Show Car Glaze. From what I read, a glaze is a polish without any cleaning properties. Its primary function is to improve the paint's brilliance and clarity. Glazes also contain fillers to mask or visually reduce paint imperfections. I have been told nothing compares.

Since my car is black, and looks waxed up I started to do some research. Unfortunately the stuff can be expensive. Amazon sells Zymol Z117 Ebony Black Wax. But at $61.00……</SPAN>

Meguiar’s has #7 Show Car Glaze. Then there’s Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze. Any others?

Before I go nuts. Anyone have first hand experience with this stuff?

I'm not really a big user of Glazes. I prefer to spend more effort on polishing and removing the swirls than trying to fill them in with a glaze. Glaze can be useful, but I only use it if I really need to.

Polishing is like Plastic Surgery.
Glaze is like cosmetic makeup. (you're still ugly underneath it)
