Keeping the bugs from sticking

Aside from the normal weekly washing and regular finish maintenance is there anything I can do about the bug guts? I try to remove the remnants as soon as possible. Some days I don't get home till after dark and they may stay on the paint for a day or two. I've heard of people spraying PAM on the hood/grille before a long trip. Also there is a spray-on protectant that is supposed to help keep the bugs from sticking. I don't want to do anything to harm the finish but a little protection from the bugs would be nice.
Any suggestions?

Just keep it well waxed and often as it will help to clean the bugs off easier. I don't trust any of the methods you stated, might ruin the paint.
