Got into an accident. What should I check for when I get her back from the body shop?
My 2008 Corolla got hit by a negligent driver this past week. She was making a left turn because she "didn't see me", I was going straight and there wasn't enough stopping distance for me to not collide with her.
Since the speed limit was 25, the car suffered only cosmetic damage. Unless they uncover more crap at the shop, I'll be needing a new fender, bumper, and headlight.
I'm taking it to a shop in town that a few friends recommend and so did the Toyota dealership, so I'm hoping I get a good job.
When I get the car back, what should I check for? Also, I heard that paint matching is near impossible so I shouldn't yell at the body shop if it's off, but how much tolerance should I give? On top of that, since the Corolla uses pearl paint, is there a way I can tell if they decided to cut corners and used regular automotive paint instead?
I've only had the car since December (only 4000 miles) and this is my first accident. All I can say is this -- Getting into an accident because somebody else decided not to pay attention to the road REALLY sucks.
