Without a doubt the best car care product I've ever used is 5 Star Shine (go to 5starshine.com). After waxing my cars for over twenty years I tried this product after it was recommended by a friend. I went to the site, which at first appearance seemed like just another "snake oil" product, but I did my research and decided to try it. Well, that was almost five years ago and everything they say about their product is true, that it will last for up to five years before needing to re-apply to your vehicle. I bought a new Highlander five months ago and immediately applied 5 Star Shine. Since I drive off-road quite a bit this product is such a time saver as what little dirt that remains on the finish will simply wash off with water, and any bug splats that cream the front bumper come off with the lightest wipe of a cleaning sponge/cloth. And the finish? People will ask you if you just had your car waxed or detailed, and yet it will have been two or three years since you applied the product. Give 5 Star Shine a try, you won't be disappointed.

Reason: In error I stated he hadn't posted here before, confusing trader rating with number of posts.
Let me just say that, for the record, I'm in no way associated with 5 Star Shine. Also, I was just as skeptical as you and Pb are, but after doing a Better Business Bureau search, State Attorney General's Office complaint search, and a plethora of other consumer-related sources, this company came out clean. Well, I took the leap and tried the product. All I can say is it's years later and I love 5 Star Shine, and everything mentioned in my original post is true. Basically, $70 ain't chicken feed, but if you feel you can risk that much to try the product then go for it.
As expected, you look at those postings and you see lots of speculation and "I heard about...or I read about...," but no real research and no one who's given the product a fair try. Have I used products in the past that turned out to be crap? Yes. Have I tried products that were great? Yes. You won't know till you try. It amazes me too how many people own cars worth 30, 40, 50 thousand dollars, pump 50 to 100 bucks per week into the tank, then yell and scream that it's insanity to try a product costing $60 that may save lots of time and effort. Like the Rock Man said in Alice in Wonderland, "You see what you want to see and you hear what you want to hear."
How come when I click on the contact link nothing happens? I am willing to bet that a bunch of posts in random forums have been posted "fishing for customers" I understand the Alice in Wonderland thing, but I also know that a fool is born every second! I enjoy washing and waxing so waiting 5 years is just too long for me anyway!

I can understand what you're saying as when I do detailing it gives me time to think about things while listening to some good music. The only bummer was that it got to be such a pain washing after every trip to the desert and having to reapply wax every few months. Now I just hose the dang thing off in a couple of minutes and I'm done. Cool.
