removing a scratch, help!

Removed some bird poop off my 3 week old black camry and made a scratch on the door. Stupid me! The scratch is not that deep, I run my finger over it and can't feel it and my nail won't catch. I've tried scratch X and turlewax polishing compound but no luck at all. From want I been reading it should come out but so maybe its me. What am I doing wrong? I applied several coats and alot off pressure. I found some 3M rubbing compound in the cabinet and I'm thinking of trying it, what do you guys think? I really need some help, I am really new to this.

oh I forgot to mention on the same excact day as my first scratch with the poop, I receive my second scratch. My girlfriend's little cousin playing around my car with a racket. sucks man! It's a little deeper then the first one. Maybe I should get some touch up paint? What do you guys think? Is it pretty easy to apply touch up? how is it going to look afterwards? Good as new I hope?

so while working on the scratches for the camry, I decided to clay my other car. Its a '01 accord dark green. Its never been clayed before and its the first time I ever used clay. I noticed it made alot of paint chip and spots on my car. Am I doing something wrong? Please help me out.

Clay won't make your paint chip. You probably had some paint chips that already existed, and the paint was just sitting there, unbonded, waiting to be flaked off.

To fix those scratches you need to polish. Check the How-To-Detail sticky thread and videos at the top of this forum.
