P21S is one of the best carnuba waxes. Klasse AIO and SG are excellent synthetic sealants, and some people like Zaino's products which are similar to Klasse.
You will want to clay bar the truck while its new, and then several coats of synthetic sealant, and then a coat or two of carnuba for a deeper luster. If you do that twice a year, a hand wash every couple weeks, with a coat of carnuba, is minimal effort to keep it looking beautiful.
I like P21S, but I bought the S100 version you can get at any Harley Davidson motorcycle dealer. Is extremely easy to apply and remove, as long as you don't let it dry. I used it on a cool colored Porsche I had in between my Tacomas, and it makes the paint look "wet".
It will make black paint look wonderful!
I have never use Klasse...
Try it and then post some pics...we love pics.

For dark colors with medium swirling my recommendation is:
Poorboy's SSR 2.5
Poorboy's SSR 1
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3
Klasse AIO won't remove the swirls like you're looking for and the SG won't give you the shining finish that Wolfgang will (although you won't see a whole lot on Wolfgang on TN). I can't tell you whether or not Wolfgang or SG gives you longer protection though, if you're looking for longevity. P21S gives you an awesome deep color on the dark paint, but it won't last long. I still like to use P21S on top of a sealant, but that's just for looks as I'm relying on the sealant for protection.
The detailing forum on TN will give you different perspectives.

Invest in some equipment or spend countless hours by hand. Once you have it good spend the extra 10 minutes and wash it right so you dont ruin it again.

I don't think he was asking about polishes, though
I agree that polish wasn't a specific question from Timmy, but he wants to get rid of scratches and swirls on a recently purchased 2005. If a private seller doesn't attempt to remove the scratches and swirls right before sale it tells me he likely also didn't do that while he owned it for 3 years. That's why I suggested the polishes I did, although it's good on you for clarifying that the Poorboy products I mentioned are not sealants or waxes. If it truly is just a case of removing swirls from a couple of bad washes at a dealer (assuming good care by the actual daily driver) than I would still recommend SSR 1.0 or another fine swirl remover (polish). Other than going with a polish, the only other option I see is to get a glaze with a filler which is an inferior option, IMO. Waxes and sealants will give shine, but won't get rid of swirls and scratches.

Absolutely true. If you want to get it and keep it right then get some good washing gear (sheepskin mitts and microfiber towels) to minimize further swirling and a $100 Porter Cable 7424 (for polishing [and sealing/waxing]). If you don't mind investing your own time you can do it right for much cheaper than what you'd pay for someone who may or may not know what they are doing.
Check out the detailing forum on TN. PB and some others posted some great "how-to" instructions there.
