Best way to remove these fine scratches?

Hi There,

I got these fine scratches on the sides, it was kept in a tight garage and I guess by walking buy with zippers or buttons the produced this.....they are way more visible with the sun.

I do have a buffer, the question is which product to use.......I have some GM speedglaze, someone toldme to use scratchx from meguir

Any pointers ? thanks in advance

They look like the scratches caused by automatic car washes...I'm going to move this thread to get ya more information.

Me? I would just buy 3m cutting compound and go after it with a buffer.....but don't take my advise. It would be my car not yours I'd screw up, if it didn't work.

Waxing will never remove scratches. It may only temporarily fill them in and hide them, but the wax will soon evaporate and the scratches will come back.

Shapeup, You need polish and a buffer to fix that. It might take a heavy cut polish to fix those scratches. Finish it up with a fine polish. I use different brands of polishes. Sonus, PoorBoys, and Adam's. Do you live near a NAPA? NAPA carries 3M polishes. They will work good if you don't feel like ordering your polish online. What buffer do you have? A Craftsman or AutoZone buffer is probably not going to do the job. Check the Detailing How-To sticky thread for more info.

You could do it by hand, but you better have several hours of free time, and arms like SuperMan.

If you are keen on using power tools, the best investment for your car is a Porter Cable DA polisher. You can rectify problems like these with ease and elevate caring for your car to a whole new level. Where are you in Canada?
