Painting Guide

Is there a guide or book that you guys recommend on how to paint a car? I need all of the basics, from what equipment I'll need, procedure, etc.

Thanks =)

There's a very large range of ways to do it, but mainly either spray paint or siphon fed guns, but that requires an air compressor.

What are you trying to paint? Just a bumper or two? Or repaint a whole car? Repaint a car would requiring complete sanding of everything and reapplying primer, paint, and clear coat.

I'd say probably google would be the your best friend, or look up books in a bookstore or even amazon.com.

I'm in Chicago as well, let me know what you want to paint and I might be able to help.

Yeah I just want to paint my body kit that comes in next week. Do those usually need to be prepped as well?
