I just wanted to see how many other people besides me use car wax to clean their windows. I find this works better than windex when used with blue shop paper towels. It makes then so clear and does'nt leave any streaks what so ever.
Stoners, and then I might finish it up with some car wax. I treat my windows pretty much the same as I do my paint. Polish and wax anything smooth. (not plastic or rubber)

Stoner's Invisible Glass is great. For the exterior glass, I follow it up with Optimum Opti-Seal or any other sealant. I've found that the oils in carnauba waxes can have a negative (smearing) effect on the front windshield.
For cleaning media, the best thing I've come across are cotton huck towels (basically surgical towels). Newspapers are too messy. Huck towels don't have any nap so there's no smearing or streaking.

I use DirtX for auto and household windows and mirrors. Available at Lowe's or Sherwin Williams. Waxing sounds good afterwards. Also wax my headlight covers (glass) or use Plexus airplane windshield cleaner/polish if covers are plastic.
Meg's NXT glass cleaner and a Cobra MF towel. Once clean I put on Rain-X on. It does an amazing job on sheeting water, not fogging the windows, and bugs/tar comes off with ease.
Take an old spray bottle that holds about 20 ounces.
Ad about 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar, a 1/4 cut rubbing alcohol and fill it with water. The vinegar cuts the crud, the alcohol stops the streaking and it's dirt cheap. Also seems to help prevent fogging, but I can't scientifically prove that.

I'll have to add the alcohol as I usually have to follow up the vinegar solution with a damp rag to eliminate the streaks. Thanks for the tip!
