Canada Rust Check

I am currently leasing an 07 Corolla. This is the third Canadian winter for it. I am leaning toward buying this car out at lease end because it has been a great car. I am thinking I should perhaps start getting it rust proofed if I am going to keep it for another 10 years or whatever. I've never had a vehicle rust checked. I would have better off to have done this from the start but my logic is better late than never if it does actually work. Opinions??

I've used Krown for about 9 years on 2 diff vehicles and never a spot of rust. It does tend to collect dirt around bottom of door, edge of hood etc, but I would rather that with a thin film of rust inhibitor than rust itself. Also helps lubricate.

I only keep my new cars 4 yrs, but do it anyway. If I was in your shoes and planning to keep the car that long, the $100 per year would be a no-brainer investment for me. Go for it.

Update

My local service guy told me he wouldn't bother. There is a coating put on at the factory that is supposed to be good for 10 years. He said it would do more harm than go to apply rust check as it can damage the rubber seals, etc...
