wheel cleaning

just recently got my Work Wheels Emotion XC-8 in Work Metal Buff

I dont know what kind of finish it has so im curious to know how i can keep them in the best possible condition. friends of mine said to just use soap and water and to avoid any wheel cleaner..

can anyone recomend to me a safe wheel cleaner i can use for my wheels or am i limited to soap and water? i want to be able to protect its finish and not just simply clean them.. thanks.
