Removal of pinstripe

Ehhhh..... I have a 1992 Camry. Its dark metallic red (cherry) and has a white pinstripe. Do you folks think it would look better with NO pinstripe? Or, do ya'll think I should remove the white and put another color on there?

Also, how in heck CAN you remove it without harming the paint? It IS a 17 year old paint job so Im not sure what to expect.

If the pinstripe is the stick-on ones like most are, all you need is a plastic card (unused credit cards, etc.), paper towel and 70% rubbing isopropyl alcohol (used for cuts and stuff).

All you do is fold a piece of paper towel and wet it with alcohol and generously apply it to the pinstriping you want to take off. Maybe work in like 6 inch sections depending on how easy it comes off. Then use the plastic card and slowly scrape off the pinstripe. If it has age on it, the adhesive may still be on the car, just use alcohol and it'll make it a whole lot easier.

The plastic card may put scratches in the paint, but can be easily dealt with using rubbing compound and polish.

Heat gun and start pulling. Once done get your dual action polisher to clean up the mess!

i'd just leave it if it is in good shape, but if it is one of those kinds that gets all flaky looking, peel it.
