Thumbs up Meguilar's Clay Bar

Tried the Meguilar's clay bar last week and I am very satisfied with the results. I like the Meguilar's much better than the Mothers brand. The clay bar seems to be a better quality (to my feel) plus I like that I can use the Meguilar's Quick Detailer as the lubricant. Did both the Camry and the HL and the paint has never felt so smooth. Also removed all the little rust specs from the brake pads (the Camry is Super White so the rust specs were more noticeble). Definatley recommend this product. Think I paid $19.99 at AutoZone.

Yes, the clay kit is a nice product that works well. PS: After claying is also a good time to use a paint cleaner to remove additional contamination, prior to a good glaze+wax finish.

PLEASE so not re-use the clay bar that you used to remove the rust specs from the brake pads. save it for just that, or glass cleaning etc. do not re-use it on your paint since it likely contains little bits of rust and that will scratch your paint. I will have nightmares thinking about you claying your car and putting fine scratches all over the paint

It's cheaper at Walmart. I think it's 15.99 or so...

Wally's World is hands down the cheapest on over the counter stuff. Clay kits, tire foams, quick detail, and car soap. I get all my Meg's and Mother's for my OTC from them.

As for that clay kit...IMO it sucks unless you have pristine paint with very minimum contaminants on the paint. I use more aggressive Black Magic clay which is really hard to find, 3M, or Aggressive Meg's. All three mentioned are more harsh on the paint but it works faster and the paint correction would be followed by a medium to mild polish, orange Lake County pad, and DA polisher. Then followed by your favorite wax or sealant.

+1. Never reuse any that has those harsh pieces in it or if it falls on the floor. Toss that piece and get a new piece!
