Its not bad overall but it tends to wash off to quickly for my tastes. I only use the Ice was on my windows and I use a carnauba wax for the body work. lasts me for a few weeks longer that way

For a combination of shine, protection and longevity, Collinite 845 Insulator wax can't be beat.

Hey what is the secret to the clay? I just bought the Meguiars clay kit and it seems very hard to get the bugs off with it. I drive a LOT of miles and the bugs get baked on all week before I can clean them, but It took like two hours to clean the front bumper. What is the proper amount of lube. To little and the clay smears, just one squirt and all it does is slide with no bug cleaning action I am planning on waxing with Meguirs tomorrow. I have never used this brand, I am trying it after reading the reviews here. Will it help with the bugs? Will it hold up to a twice weekly scrub the get the new guts off?

^^^ if you keep your nose well waxed the bugs should come off very easy. IMO the clay bar isn't for regular cleanings, more of a once or twice a year thing. you should be able to feel how much lube to use... enough to allow the clay bar to slide without fetching up but no so much that it's pouring off the car.

Yeah I figured the clay wasn't for regular detailing, but this is a brand new car and the bugs were NOT off. The surface was smooth but you could still see where they were. So I figured try the clay to get them off and then put on a good quality wax. People say Meguiars last awhile? I had my last car (bought used but immaculate) treated with the "touch of class" paint sealent. $350 6years ago. Looked great but when you reapplied the touch up stuff It always came away with a lot of paint. When I finally ran out of the touch up and went to get more they said no, have to buy the now $500 treatment again. NOT going to happen.

I know this is off topic but I am going to get my first oil change next week, The dealers said Toyota filters have a valve in them. Is this proprietary? I have always used Mobil oil and Filters but the parts house shows no Mobil filters for this i-4. If so are Toyota filters good? They Mobil filters go down to one micron.

Your car looks good, real good! But you can get a little more depth with that black paint. Try dressing up the tires and use some undercarraige spray. Here's some pics of my buddys Colorado from last year:

Truck was clayed, polished, Klasse AIO, Klasse SG, Adams fine Machine Wax as a topper. Check out Adamspolishes.com for good stuff.

I could never get Meguires to last long, if you want some long lasting wax, try this stuff:

http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-fuz...r-car-wax.html

Stuff last quite some time and beads up like crazy!

Hey Thanks! I will check it out. What is the best defense for bugs, just multiple layers of good wax?
