Is this tree sap?

I have this crap all over the top of my car. Can anyone confirm it is tree sap? I bought some bug/tar/tree sap remover and it is not taking it off. I am so frustrated right now. Someone pelase confirm.

OOOHHH!!! That's nasty!!!

Try scratch remover stuff, sometimes it works better than tar/bug remover.

I am seriously on the verge of tears :S. I really really hope someone can offer some good advice here. I have tried rubbing compound as well.

That pic just shows a bit of the roof. Its all over the roof. I will take another pic.

EDIT: Just occurred to me, if this was sap, would it not be on the glass as well? This is only on the roof of the car and there is nothing on the windows.

Well, if you don't like my advice, then take it to the dealer. Maybe your paint is defective, it should be under warranty.

wash your roof with dishwashing soap (dawn) and claybar it. i just did my car for the same reason this morning but it's not as bad as yours. don't forget to polish and wax after using the clay bar. if all things fail, go here : www.autopia.org. i always go there when i have detailing questions. hope this helps

i forgot about the claybar, even thought I just claybarred my car today!

Def get the dishwashing soap to strip the wax.
Clay bar it with alot of lubrication. (Most should come off, might take some spot treatment)
Then get a polish or even a "scratch" polish (eg. scratchx)
Then a wax to seal just as rlman stated.

If a it doesnt come out, you might need a buffer, or a professional

Is it sticky like corn syrup? If it's still soft and sticky, spray some WD-40 on there and it will remove it. If it's hardened and you're unlucky, it can pull the paint up with it when you go to remove it.
