Contaminents from Parking Ramp, how to remove?

Anyone have any suggestion on removal of contaminents from our parking ramp?

My car is coated with 2 coats of Rejex, did this back in may. In fact I washed my car and water just beads right off, but you can feel the contaminents and it feels like a piece of a high grit sand paper. In fact you can see it on the windsheid.

They are resealing half of the parking ramp, and redoing the expansion joints, so all that dust is in the air.

I tried my Mcguires qwik detailer and that did nothing.

Am I going to have to clay the entire car and recoat it in rejex? Obviously I need to wait until they are done with the ramp before I do that.

Yeah, sounds to me like you're going to need to clay.

Don't know if I'd want to wait until they're done, unless of course that's going to be soon. I'd want to get whatever it is off as soon as possible.

Any options for parking away from the contamination until they're done?

As a little bit of background I work at Michigan State University. Every year when the students are gone there is construction everywhere. I do have a couple of other parking options that I could do while they are doing this. The surface lots I risk more rain, and bird droppings as well as the heat, not to mention the dirt from the road construction. I asked the parking Nazi's here when they are going to be done.

What really sucks is that it takes 12 hours between coats on the rejex. It appears to be doing the job, unless I got some kind of chemical reaction, in which case I'll probably have to use goof off on the entire car.

I think I am going to try to clay the windshield and see what happens with that.

So what exactly is it that's on your car? Concrete grit from them redoing the expansion joints and sealant overspray from them sealing concrete?

I am not exactly sure what is on my car. My guess it is a combination of both the sealant and the concrete dust, as the day that it happened they were doing both sanding the pealing sealant off of the ramp.

If there was some kind of solvent that they use to help lift of the sealant my guess would be that.

I can see distortion on the windshield where it got on there.

I found where they have all the chemicals for the ramp. There are three different things.

Granusil silica pellets
Elastomatic Aggregate
(the last chemical the phone didn't pick it up)

Anyhow, claybar alone did not do the trick.
Claybar and invisible glass didn't work.

Finally I used my gunk road tar and bug remover. Made a nasty mess of the windshield. Followed up with claybar and invisible glass. That seems to have did the trick.

Could have used some trusty WD-40 as it does an excellent job of removing bug and tar residue. In fact, there is very little WD-40 will not remove.

I'll try it. This stuff is still on the rest of the car. I can see it on the side windows.

Oddly you can't really see it unless you look for it. The car still shines great.

Get the spots you can see with a micro-fiber towel and some WD-40 and then clay the vehicle

I finally got tired of my car feeling like 3000 grit sandpaper. This weekend I sprayed the rest of the gunk tar and bug remover on the car, then washed the car.

That kind of made a greasy mess on the windows. Then I finally did the rest of the hood yesterday.

I had to really scrub the hell out of the surface with the claybar and go over it quite a few times. So I'll try and get to the rest of the car each night then I'll have to re-seal it again with rejex.

I like using mothers. Plus the detail spray smells like cinnamon.
