Power of the clay bar?

Well, you guys know that the clay bar helps get out the tree sap off vehicles.

I was out of town over the weekend and I have new neighbors moving in next door. They decided to spray paint their house white. There is recently a fire in the area, a lot of the ashes collected on my truck. I washed my truck today and there now white spots on one side of my truck! GAH! I was wondering if a clay bar will be able to get rid of the white paint off my truck, or maybe something else will be able to do the trick. I was able to scratch off the big drops of paint.

The clay bar will help but I would contact my insurance agent first! Make the neighbors pay for the work.

Try it, it's a small investment.

I've had excellent success with clay barring to remove various debris.

Lol Stevenson, I don't mean spray paint as in the can. I meant the spray gun.

It won't be a bad start with the neighbors. I've already talked to them about it. I approached them in a clam matter, I wasn't furious or anything. They said that the person who painted their house did a lousy job because inside their house, it was just a mess because the painters didn't cover anything. They also told me that they would go talk to their agent and let me know what's going to happen.

What clay bar is good to use, or would any clay bar be fine?

Good News, seen the bars never bought one . Seeing they seem pretty popular here I may have one in the near future.

Try the Meguiars Clay Kit you can find at Target/Walmart. If that doesn't work, you'll have to step it up to the Meguiars Mild version of clay or something similar. Do NOT use Aggressive or you will be hating yourself for doing it. Usually using Aggressive marrs the crap out of the paint so yeah, OTC Megs or Mild Megs is your best bet

I bought the Meguiar's kit and it does a great job. Here's the bar after doing just the lower panel of the front passenger door. Results are amazing and super smooth!

Yikes. You washed your car first, right?

Yes I did. The previous owner didn't take good care of the vehicle's bodywork. It was actually dirty the day I first saw it before purchasing it. You'd think the guy would have washed it to get a better price.

You can use aggressive, but you better have a dual action polisher to clean up those scratches you will make. A quality pad like a Lake County pad and some good polish like XMT or Poorboy's will clean you up.

I really hope you took off your ring when you clayed. I am married and my ring comes off every single time I touch my paint.

Nope, didn't take off the rings. I am careful when working on the car or anything else. Besides, they have been on for 20+ years, I'm kind of use to them now.
