What clay bar to go with?

Hi everyone! I've read all over how great clay bar is for your car and I'm about to jump into the band wagon! I just don't know what clay bar and lube I should use. I don't want to use Mequiers or Mothers kit because it is just too available, too expensive (for what you get) and I like to see what other products are out there. So please tell me what you use and why it is better than the other guy!

Check out Sonus SFX or Wolfgang clay.

It's available from the autopia store.

If you can find a source, Ricardo Yellow Poly Clay is one of the best I've used. Does not crumble over time and it is reusable many times. I've used my 1/2 bar on 10 cars that have had heavy contaminants and it still looks brand new. Another great clay is Bilt Hamber Soft, its a clay you do not use any lube with, just plain water. Great stuff compared to the stuff made here in the states (Auto Magic makes ALL the clays here because they have a patent on clay and sue anyone who tries to sell "special" clay bars). See if you can find some

The new Mothers kit with two full-size clay bars is hard to beat, and it's at most auto parts stores. It no longer includes a cleaner wax, but has two bars, a towel plus the lubricant. Some stores have the old single bar kit, but the new one is pretty much everywhere.

Try Griot's Garage paint cleaning clay. I've used their clay several times with their Speed Shine as a lubricant and obtained great results. The container comes with enough to clay 4 vehicles. Good luck!

Three common over the counter products are Meguiars, Mothers and Clay Magic. Personally I use Mothers just because the kit include two clay bars. Among other auto detailer forums, Ricardo Clay seem popular.
