Thumbs down Yellow line paint on '04 black HL

Well looked at the drivers side of my black '04 HL and it has fine Yellow road line paint spray on the lowwer rockers and drivers door bottom. I have tried bug and tar remover without much luck, only thing that takes it off is my finder nail, don't want to scratch my fragile black paint. Is clay bar a better option? Any other ticks folks!!

I have wanted to put longer flat/truck style mudflaps on my HL for just this reason, the stock contour ones don't cut it!

Try the clay bar, I've heard it takes overspray off, so it might work, it couldn't hurt.

You should be able to remove most of it with some paint thinner or something like it. Just make sure its a quick wipe after you put it on or you risk messing up your paint. I did it a couple times to my ES when I didn't want to waste a perfectly good/rare/expensive claybar that I have in my stock lol

I'd rather waste a claybar than risk causing damage to my paint wiping it with thinner.

Try using prep clean as a solvent and a plastic razor blade, if necessary. Both are usually sold at most auto parts stores. To save time, you could always just spray paint black any areas that are in the wheel wells. Follow up with a rubbing compound or good polish, if nededed, and finish with a good quality wax or sealant. Good Luck!

Don't use paint thinner. Use a clay bar with the proper quick detailer and you will get it off. Just cut a piece of the bar use that then toss it.

You guys should keep an open mind to ideas lol. Essentially, 3M adhesive remover will work but its expensive
