Windows with defogger and antenna

I was browsing through my Venza owner's manual, and came across a little sentence warning against using glass cleaners on the inside of the the rear window. It seems they can damage the electrical defog and radio antenna wires. And wouldn't ya know, I had just finished using Stoner's on that very same place.

Well, the radio still works, but I haven't had any mist on the window to try the defogger on, so I'm going to guess its OK.

Has anybody had any experience with cleaning inside the rear window? Will Stoner's destroy those wires?

Hmmmm, not sure why that would be? I guess using it once will be fine, no damage should have been done. Maybe someone more in the know will chime in.

It should be perfectly fine. As long as you don't somehow cut the wires cleaning it, it'll work as expected. My 96 ES300 and 05 RX330 was cleaned for years with Stoners and no ill effects have popped up at all. Just use as little pressure as possible

They have been on all rear windows for over 30 years and I myself never had a problem cleaning rear windows and damaging the wires you talk about. Just like eyezack87n said just don't damage or cut them and your be fine.

Thanks Mr. G. I suspect Toyota is just covering their butts by including that in the manual, in case somebody sues them after destroying the wires!
